Haji Public School
Breswana is the native village of the founding members of the Amina Trust and a prototype of the average, remote, inaccessible village in the mountains of Doda in Jammu and Kashmir. The very first HAJI PUBLIC SCHOOL (again a not-for-profit setup, with subsidised fees) under the Amina Trust umbrella was established here, and it will remain the main branch in the coming years.
Haji Public School, Breswana (HPS Breswana) began operations on May 4th, 2009. In its first year, the HPS Breswana had two grades - lower and upper kindergartens. The plan is to continually train and recruit more staff and resources and eventually take the institution up to high school level. In the current academic year 2010, HPS Breswana introduces 1st and 2nd Grades as well.

The success of HPS Breswana in its inaugural year 2009 has been very encouraging. On seeing the commendation from parents of our students and the obvious quality of the school’s operations, various adjoining villages had approached the Trust with requests to open branches of HPS in their areas as well.
In this regard, Amina Trust is pleased to announce the opening of a new branch of HPS in Parsholla and Shadiwan from March 2010.
CURRICULUM, TEACHING:
The curriculum and teaching methods implemented in all HPS branches have been designed personally by members of the Trust who have international experience in the field of teaching and education. The school has adopted English-speaking from kindergarten itself (which is a rarity in the region) and uses the Playway Method (learning with fun, games, music, dance, audio-visuals etc.) which is very effective with young children.

Teachers and Training
Teachers for the Haji Public School are chosen keeping in mind the special requirements of the job, their educational qualifications, familiarity with village life, the region and local language, and most importantly, their attitude towards the achievement of the goals the Trust has set up.
All staff is provided special teacher’s training in Jammu and/or Doda City to prepare them for their duties. The training programme comprises a mix of school administration training, documentation, timetables, rehearsal of daily routine, teaching through the Playway Method and specialised English-speaking classes to make them more fluent in the language.
The selected teachers take up residence in the assigned locations and run the school under the direct supervision of the Trust.

Materials
The Education Wing of the Trust personally oversees the purchase of books, training material, stationery, toys and other teaching equipment for the HPS chain from New Delhi, Jammu and Doda.
It is a matter of pride for the Trust that the quality of materials used in HPS is far superior to that available in other schools in the region, and the children deserve no less.
